Eugene Spafford: Exploring Grand Challenges in Trustworthy Computing

Eugene ("Spaf") Spafford will discuss current research trends and how they relate to the four grand challenges in Trustworthy Computing. The colloquium happens Monday, November 15, 2004, from 2:30pm to 4:30 in Woodward 149—note the changed time. Prof. Spafford teaches at Purdue University. He is a major figure in the computer security/infosec area, having built the first open scanner, widely-available intrusion detection tool, and the first formal bounds on intrusion detection, among many other accomplishments.
